We’ve recently added a brand new video tutorial section giving walk throughs of the key features of thedailybrowse.com. The landing page now includes a snapshot of the major news stories across a few different catagories. You can skim the news categories without logging in from the login page.

You can also utilise RSS feeds of your own flavored news categories to ensure that you never miss a breaking news story. If you are using any other news reader, you can import your subscriptions via an OPML file. An OPML file is a standard format used to import and export feed subscriptions from one feed reader to another. Work is under way for a Facebook application allowing your news to be viewable by you within you Facebook profile via a widget.

The WEX (WEb eXperience) engine has recently been deployed into the wild powering the taliored news site www.thedailybrowse.com

Our new WEX Engine performs live user behavioural analysis and presents the most meaningful and relevant editorial content, products and advertisements to a user visiting a site, increasing site returns and sales potential.

“Search” & “browse” are the two fundamental activities online. When someone knows exactly what they are looking for, they search for it. When they don’t they browse.

Browsing holds the golden opportunity for a recommendation system. The user is not focused on finding a specific thing, they are open to suggestions.

Decisions determined by the WEX Engine can be used to target users with specific products, push relevant editorial content or to promote specific advertisements. Results can be used to define an optimal click-stream path for individual users through sites.

The WEX engine is platform independant (for use on web, mobile and digital television platforms) See WEX’s features in detail here.

In Zeraphina Tower I on the very very top floor, the summer’s labour of love is about to be revealed. We’ve been working since the start of the year on our new product the WEX engine and a demonstration site powered by WEX - thedailybrowse.com. We are currently all back in Dublin after a summer of imagineering and development in the far flung corners of the globe to complete a final round of testing on the site. We are still on target to beta release at the end of October. As the work has progressed we’ve had to draw a line in the sand as the enevitable feature creep and in some cases code blindness has threatened our strict schedule for release. However as the code pixies continue to work their magic our attention is now turning to preparing for the beta launch. We really are getting very close to going to launch. We’ve augmented our Quality Assurance team and the bug count is diminishing (YAY!).
